Probably won’t be cold enough for much snow. El Niños typically don’t produce much Artic air, if any at all. Will need a deep cold core low to dig deep into the state for snow.

Well if it helps we're getting a front Sunday so at least they are getting closer again. Monday's forecast high is 87. Its been near or over 100 since last week. It's only a matter of time

The death ridge is firmly dug into South and southeast Texas through next week. I'm so tired of this heat. At least we're protected from tropical stuff, though I'd take a minor depression right now.

Globals and Hi-Res keeping cool north of the Red River. Cool fronts and spotty showers overnight will have temps stuck in mid 90's. People in OKC and Tulsa likely won't see triple digits for at least a week.

Ugh, the EPS keeps pushing any pattern change out. Looks like another two weeks of dry 100F+ days for DFW.

I still think a pattern change is coming mid month. How much of a change remains to be seen but todays CPC forecasts was the best I’ve seen in a while.

For the last 28 days at Camp Mabry, since July 8th to August 4th, the average high is 105.2

Thanks for sharing the death ridge with Louisiana this year . In Lafayette we have had our hottest June and July's on record. We've tied and now today will break out streak of temps above 100 (8) and no end in sight for another work so we will absolutely smash that record. 100 degree temps are about as common as winter precipitation this close to the Gulf so that shows how anamolous this pattern is. The heat index is routinely above 115 every day, you can't really do anything outside. A severe drought has also rapidly developed this summer. Is it just me or has this weather adversely affected your overall mood?

Unfortunately this dome is not going anywhere anytime soon and we are not the only ones feeling these extreme temps. There are massive heat domes ringing around the northern hemisphere of the planet. South America is seeing all time record high temps and highs in the 90s in the mid lat, keep in mind it is winter down there. Now we have wildfires to contend with locally.

I've been hunkered down deep in the rain cave hoping to ride this out, but my food supplies are getting low and I fear I must venture forth into the furnace soon to restock.
