Re: ATL: MATTHEW - Hurricane - Discussion
Everybody is talking about how lucky we were and how we have been spared. Keep in mind that the storm has not even come in yet. The worst conditions were not even expected until 11pm in the first place.

The 5pm update is not out. I am waiting to get confirmation from NHC. If they say NW at 5 then I will believe they are tracking the outer eye wall. Otherwise if it shows NNW or N which I doubt then I know they are following the inner eye wall still and believe it will continue to dominate.
I suppose we'll find out here in 20 minutes or so...

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.
Re: ATL: MATTHEW - Hurricane - Discussion
Is not the "north jog" some are talking about the inner eye rotating north inside the new outer eye?, looks to be the bigger outereye is on the track.

Yep, looping within the outer eye wall... thus tracking the inner eye is not what one should be doing atm... question is, when will it die... most likely it would really enhance the storm surge with a much larger eye.. expecting surge 7-11 feet off the coast of central FL.. geesh..

yep...you called it Aric..wish some on this board would follow your advice. I notice the outer eyewall is also becoming more elliptical - perhaps the first sign it is contracting.

Weather guys from WFTV Orlando have been right on about tracking the outer eye wall, with the inner eye wall rotating within the outer eye wall... watching via streaming all day... wx guys are doing a great job.. they are really concerned about storm surge off the central coast of FL...
Do you have a link for their live stream?

Will that convection less area in between the outer and inner fill in being that the inner eye is not collapsing? Think the inner eye staying intact will eventually rotate around westward?

WPB TV mets still focusing on probable wobbles as direction changes, unfortunately.

Aric what do you make of this. Do you think the Outer eye wall will take over?
