TWC seems to leave the door wide open for a stall off the east coast later, will have to wait and see and watch model consistency but just wow, this could be one heck of a flooding threat i would think

let's play a game , count the meso cyclone' spinning around the center? i see three right now

I disagree...for the first time ever we have strong convection, per radar, on the southern quadrants. I think its trying to form a "new core" that's why it looks like it has some dry air in the NE quad... Give it another 2-3 hours, fully expect a cane at 11.

It looks 100 times better then it did this morning. I would not be suprized if recon found some 65 knot flight level winds and 995 millibars. It's going to be close is all I can tell you. Now the question is can it cut across the state and make it into the Atlantic.

Looks like Key west is about to get into the "eye-wall" again....and not from the other end, south, but from the western eye-wall! What the heck???

Looking at base reflectivity, it's center is mostly maded up a swirling band of showers and thunderstorms. Nothing I would call an eye or an eyewall. Fay needs to start forming an eyewall before it can become a hurricane. Otherwise it will just remain a strong TS.

The possibility of isolated tornadoes aside...we had heavier storms here a couple weeks ago in the afteroon during east/west coast convergence when a neighbors was knocked over by a 50mph storm cell.

Today.... wind hardly got above 10mph in gusts and averaging 3mph. 5miles or so NE of me in Lauderhill there was a 31mph gust according to neighborhood wx network. Otherwise...nada in this area. Think this ones just gonna be a rainmaker for us.

 I'm in shock. Won't say anything else till it's confirmed, but that radar loop does appear to show a...eye? I'm scratching my head now for sure.

nope the thing just rotated so that the less convective region that was over the SW portion earlier has rotated to the NE, doesn't look as bad as when it was reversed IMO

Oh, so I guess Fay will not become a hurricane...just remain a strong tropical storm at the most, right WxMan57?

I still have 75 mph at landfall in my forecast - just in case. But the pressure seems steady now, and the convective burst is not over the center. Doesn\\\'t have a lot of time left to strengthen.
What do you mean by \\\"just in case\\\"?

Either you believe Fay will become a hurricane or you believe that it will remain a tropical storm?

So take your pick. What say you?
I could say something...but I'm not.

I heard him say that also. He wasn't sure how that could be. He wanted to check the data again.
