If it is getting its act together, its not out of time. I still think it has 6-8 hours before landfall.

just thought it would be nice to have this radar view bumped . . .

Radar doesnt look quite as impressive right now, but im not surprised, everyday this is when Fay always looks weakest, and it gets its act together early morning, but will it run out of time?

The banding ongoing across the Middle and Upper Keys is resulting in surface winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 at times. With the new cells and bands rapidly forming farther north, I anticipate that stronger wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph will start-up across Southeast and interior South Florida over the next couple of hours. Isolated tornadoes will also remain possible. Later on, this activity should work west towards Naples and Fort Myers.

One of the remaining strong bands to the southeast now rotating through the Upper Keys.
Max wind gust so far that I've seen is 51 offshore at mlrf1 (http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=MLRF1.

Sombrero Key has had 54 k gust.
http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=SMKF1

Rain really starting up now here, winds 37knot steady.

Jay what about the worst conditions (i.e. worst bands) for SE FL? I'm thinking we may need to wait until tomorrow morning or so as Fay is barely moving.

It was a tough decision for me over here on the Treasure Coast but in the end I'm glad I did it. I can rest easier tonight and not worry about getting woken up in the middle of the night with a rude suprise...

Just like in that movie "Jarhead," we are now "in the suck" when it comes to weather here in Jupiter. Heavier rain and wind moving in ...

Maybe, Maybe not...But if I have to file a claim with insurance it sure helps when I can tell them that I prepared for the storm versus having a TS warning and shutters sitting in the garage not being used.

Plus, like I said earlier...If I end up not needing them it was a good fire drill

You could borrow mine, or my Davis weather station... since I'm getting 5-10mph winds with occasional gusts to 20. (standard 33' hieght) lol

At least durring wilma it was more interesting to watch it hitting 90+mph gusts. In a sick sort of way, this storm is real dissapointment for me.

The storm is tilted because radar is showing a center east of where it is being claimed by NHC track. Another reason why it shouldn't get too much stronger. The environment condition reports on this were misleading. They were saying very favorable when they were somewhat unfavorable.

A few gusts now.

They would certainly help with an EF1 tornado. Wind and rain still heavy at my house and judging by the radar it is going to be a long night. I'm in it for the long haul. If I loose power I will have no way to hear my infant child (monitor wont work) and the wife is already sound asleep.
