It is going to be windwise worse than they think, especially if forward speed increases: fast but furious punch

Those tornado warnings in Brooklyn and Queens tell the story of whats next as the southern warm ocean air clashes at very fast speed north into colder air

It's waves that high, not a surge.

Sigh. 15ft is 15ft whatever it is. 4 and a half meter 'waves' is nothing to be frowned upon, especially as that energy will soon be transferred further inshore.

Excerpt from the 5am Discussion:

NOTE...MORE SO THAN WITH MOST STORMS...THE WINDS WITH IRENE INCREASE
SHARPLY WITH HEIGHT ABOVE THE SURFACE. AS IRENE MOVES THROUGH
AREAS WITH HIGH-RISE STRUCTURES...THESE BUILDINGS COULD EXPERIENCE
WINDS SIGNIFICANTLY STRONGER THAN THE SURFACE WINDS. WINDS AT THE
30-STORY LEVEL WILL LIKELY BE 20 PERCENT HIGHER THAN AT THE
SURFACE...AND WINDS 80-100 STORIES UP COULD BE ABOUT 30 PERCENT
HIGHER THAN AT THE SURFACE.

Yes I stand corrected. Energy latent transfer has no relevance whatsoever during times like these, going through atlantic cyclogenesis 'bombs' I must be talking rubbish. Sorry but too many people here with ego's, not going to bother contributing anymore if all I get is cr-p for giving a link.
