Too much snow!!!

#1 Postby andyidaho » Wed Feb 06, 2008 10:26 pm

I now stand at 168" this snow season plus Coeur'd Alene's old record snowfall set back in 1949-1950 fell yesterday. I have close to 7 feet of snow in places! Yesterday's storm was quite interesting with heavy snow for most of event which added up to 9" for that storm. As the cold front slid through however my temperature jumped from 31 to 43f in 2 minutes then back to 30f. During that temperature spike, some thundersnow came through and I saw close to 10 lightning bolts. My yard looks like a frozen desert with plenty of "snow dunes". With another dump of snow for tonight and no end in sight, my snow total could break the 200" mark. At this point, it may take until June or even July to melt all of this snow and ice. :froze: :cold:

Hmm. Could this possibly be the start of a new glacier?

lol.

I don't think it will be a start of a new glacier. I just think it will take a long time to melt since there's so much.

Maybe, but you never know. Last year we had a ton of snow on the ground in winter, but then we had a record warm spell in March. The snow actually melted from our yard the earliest since we lived here, the last day of March (but of course it snowed in April, May and June). Record snows can disappear fast with a few weeks of record heat.

Looks like you might be looking at a bigger snowblower from the size of those drifts. Ahh the memories of Minnesota snow storms. Yeah I would wait untill spring to take those Christmas lights down to..

 Why can't I live there?!

Where exactly do you live (besides the Coeur d'Alene area)? And what was Coeur d'Alene's snowfall record? Just curious.

And I thought my 84" so far this year was bad. lol. Not that I'm complaining about it.
