Wall Mart to rebuild in Pass Christian
Wal Mart has announced that the store destroyed by Katrina in Pass Christian, Miss will be rebuilt. The new store will be smaller and set back futher from the GOM. The store is expected to open sometime in late 2009....MGC

Where is the WalMart going to be located? We spent last weekend down in "The Pass" at the Jackson Colony.....there isn't anywhere to shop for groceries.....you've got to go back up to I-10. Actually it's easier just to drive west on 90.....there's more shopping in Waveland than either The Pass or BSL. I wonder when the Winn Dixie in BSL plans to open?

Groundbeaking is Nov 17 with completion during the summer of 2009.....MGC

Sort of OT
I imagine the WalMart behind the Sea Wall on Galveston Island did ok.
It is built on the spot where 100 nuns and orphans drowned at the St. Mary's orphanage in the 1900 storm. The orphanage was built away from the city because there were fewer mosquitoes there, thus lower risk of malaria and yellow fever.

Wal Mart in the Pass is progressing well. The building is up and painted. There are still a few piles of dirt where the parking lot will be. I'll let ya'll know when it opens.....MGC

That's good to hear. Gonna be in the Pass on the 15, 16 and 17 (May) rebuilding the pier at the Jackson Colony. All volunteers. Come see us!
