Poor little Joshua. He got out of bed, my little 22 month old, and climbed up in my lap as I watched Louisville and Tennessee, and huggged me tightly and tried to go to sleep. And I'm thinking, bad dream, just needed a hug, who knows?
After about 15 minutes, he hurls on me. Milk, undigested spaghetti and meat sauce, and blueberries, and then hurls some more. Soaked my shirt and pants. I stripped naked, and took a shower while my wife started the laundry.
Anyway, my wife has used most of her sick days, the day care won't want a sick child. His older brother, Edward Miguel (named for me, except my middle name is Michael) had a one day stomach virus/vomit sickness just Monday night/Tuesday morning, so I hope this passes quickly.
My wife is trying to sleep with the little fella, just called me for a fresh vomit towel, I am doing laundry. I have thrown more gacked towels in there, and will do a complete second cycle.
But I'm calling in sick, and staying home with my little fellow. He is usually so much fun. He was in the emergency room the first or second week of cuaresma with a pencil eraser shoved up his nostril, and he has broken his leg climbing. Crazy little fellow, but a lot of fun. Very helpful around the house to, always wanting to help.
I hope he is feeling better, the washing machine is almost full now.
Sick day tomorrow

Wow, this topic takes me back......waaaaaay back! When my daughters were quite young, they almost always got sick in the middle of the night. When you want to go back to sleep in the worst way but you couldn't! And they were so sick, you felt so bad for them. The washer would be going and going. After they got a little older I got into a routine. We saved an old Tupperware yellow plastic bowl/round canister. This became known as the "throw-up bowl". When not sick, it has to be stowed under the kitchen sink b/c apparently just the sight of it gives my kids a stomach ache just to see it! In the beginning I'd clean them up, change the sheets and then put them back to bed. What did I know - naive, young mother. LOL It didn't take me long to figure out the vomiting comes in waves and can last an hour or two. I would just prop them up on a thick, warm bathroom rug, putting a towel on their lap, with the bowl, I'd be around the corner in their bedroom, changing their sheets, etc. Sure enough, within 10-15 minutes they'd be sick again. Oh, a box of tissues on the floor next to them. In time they stood over or knelt over the toilet bowl (but I found out they hated doing this the most). This is why that old battered yellow bowl has been used a lot! Long story short, I would keep them in the bathroom, sitting on the floor, near the toilet for a while. And I'd be nearby, etc. Not back in bed. I'd also have another change of sheets ready to go if needed. I'd remove items from their beds (stuffed animals, etc.) and prop all doors open, for when they'd go back to sleep. I know I didn't sleep well those nights and probably kept my bedroom door open too. It all settled down after a few hours. The next day they had applesauce, popsicles, saltines, chicken soup, and of course, our trusty 7Up (our beverage choice after being sick).
I just never seemed to be able to get my kids to make it to the toilet, for years.
And I should add, since I was a stay at home mom back then, dad/hubby slept thru it all. Like a baby - LOL!
Hang in there......it does get better. I can still remember the cough or gag, and then we'd RUN for the yellow bowl!

Re: Sick day tomorrow
Joshua woke up just before eight (after a few more basically 'dry heave' events during the night), was in a panic because Mommy had already left for work, but I got him about 4 ounces of pedialyte, and put him back to bed in his bed, and I climbed into his brother's single bed, (he had been in our bed with my wife and me) and I slept almost 3 more hours, and he is still sleeping.
I may test him with microwave pancakes when he wakes up.
I just added fabric softener and put washing machine on rinse cycle. I ran two full cleaning cycles last night, but was too tired to put clothes in the drier.

Re: Sick day tomorrow
Joshua is all better.
Friday, he had no appetite at all, and drank only a little Pedialyte, and we slept in past 11 am, but after, while not at all hungry, and still having the poops, he was all full of fun and energy.
Now, he has his appetite, and he slept well, and is 100% good.

Mom & the kids went to Pasadena, to Tia Mimi's house, for a birthday party for my wife's cousin's son. Teresita got sick, which isn't a complete surprise, first at Tia Mimi's, and again, per my wife on the cell phone, in the minivan.
Extra glad I stayed home for basketball and racing.
But Big Brother and Little Brother were both better in less than a day, so I expect one rough evening, and then mija will be ok.
I stocked up on Pedialyte yesterday just for this.

Teresita is feeling better, but we're letting her skip Sunday school just in case.
