PortAventura- Hurakan Condor Cable Breaks

#1 Postby JonathanBelles » Tue Jun 10, 2008 12:09 am

I couldnt find any news outlets with this news. This is from Screamscape.

6/9/08) An incident, frightening similar in nature to the one that happened last year at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, took place earlier today on the park’s Hurakan Condor drop tower ride, also made by Intamin. As you can see in the detailed pictures posted to CoasterCravers.net, one of the cables attached to the passenger car broke and came free of the tower. In this case the ride operator did hit the E-Stop before the car could drop, possibly preventing a repeat of last year’s accident. Park staff managed to get the situation under control and allowed the car to perform a safe drop back to earth. The ride apparently reopened later the same day, just without the one car.
