Help, please?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Do any of these photos indicate that we're close to seeing a closed loop?

Not yet ... incidentally, QS scattometer winds data is ...missing.... (What's new?)

RECCO was unable to close off a circulation center right now ... another craft will be heading in later this afternoon ...

The key is to find low-level cloud signatures for a west to east component. (in other words, west winds on the southern side of the convection)

Alicia,

They do not. A recon plane was just in the area and did not find a low level circulation. Another plane is sceduled to fly this evening and I would not be suprised if they found one.

The recon data is almost two hours old. I wont be surprised to hear that the system didnt wait for their return to develop further.
