I was watching the University of Minnesota basketball game last night. I noticed a lot of the fans were wearing short sleeve t-shirts and didn't seem to have a coat with them.
Do stadiums up north have areas where you check your coat when you walk in or do people just run to their cars and hence don't use a coat?
Thanks.

Re: Stupid question about life in the north
Couple of comments - I would hate to stick my coat under my seat at an athletic event with the spilled beer and all.
As to the running to the car, I visited my dad in Chicago back when I was in high school (more than once, but this time is relevant to the discussion.) Anyway, it was winter, snow on the ground, but the temps were in the 30's. At that temp where I live in NC, I would typically wear a sweater and not bother with a coat if I were running from a warm car to a store; and I did so in Chicago. Anyway, I went out driving while my dad was at work, and every store I stopped at, the people there would ask me where my coat was, and looked at me like I was a crazy person, or had a third eye in my forehead.

I was just sitting here....relaxing.....sitting on my coat and watching the RL3A0 guys shoot down the thing in the sky.....and I spilled my beer. In hind sight I suppose I should have checked my coat at the door with the little old ladies charity.
