General Ignacio Zaragoza, a native Texan, born in Bahía del Espíritu Santo, leads the Mexican army on this date in 1862 to inflict a humiliating defeat over France at the Battle of Pueblo.

Of course, there are few nations that haven't inflicted humiliating defeats on France, but it is still a source of great pride.

Around these parts, it rates right up their with Independence Day, 16 de Septiembre as a celebration.

Mi suegro was born in Cd. Gustavo Ordaz in Tamaulipas, mi sugra is American born but of Mexican ancestry, and I have an interest in Mexican history. Actually, I like all history, especially World War 2 since my now deceased Dad was in the Army Air Force.

I need to learn to better understand Spanish, porque mis suegros hablan en Espanol yo creo que ellos hablan como me.
