2nd New England Storm this year?

#1 Postby DreamworksSKG » Sat Aug 22, 2009 8:47 pm

Is there any chance of a closer landfall type storm on the east or northeast coast this year? Or are we pretty much done here in New England till next year?

Let me check my crystal ball. ;)

In all honesty there is no way of knowing for certain. My advice, don't lower your guard until after November 30th.

Mirror mirror on the wall, will there be a landfall?

My answer(s):
Reply hazy, try again
Ask again later
Better not tell you now
Cannot predict now
Concentrate and ask again

No scientific data can be offered to rule out anything...folks can only give opinions on such things. Probability and reality sometimes don't jive.

Other than peripheral impacts, and the ts warning on Cape Cod, not sure i would even consider a storm that doesn't get less than 150 miles away (from the center) to New England a 'New England storm' even...this is more of a Canada storm. A New England event would be more direct in impact to....New England!

I hear there's a guy named Ed who hides in different places on the board who can tell you that kind of thing.
