Possible Development NE of Bahamas

#1 Postby Vortex » Sun Aug 15, 2010 8:54 am

Visible imagery this morning suggests low pressure may be forming just NE of the bahamas along an old boundary. NAM/GFS both indicate a weak surface reflection developing within the next 12-24 hours. In fact, close up vis shots this morning indicate this may be underway..

None of the models at this point are overly zealous with this system but it does bear watching as ridging will build north later this week and push it west.

For sure looks like something is brewing off the east coast of FL as we speak. Might be same type of setup that occured with our last TS.

ECM takes it up towards NC...I wouldn't totally rule out development with this one, esp given the set-up that has been present, IMO its much more like an El Nino type upper set-up in terms of the W.Atlantic troughing.
