A Silent Prayer Please...
I am asking all the prayer warriors to please say a silent prayer at 8 central for Dr. Richard Delmas or Dr. D. He passed away yesterday afternoon from Alzheimers. He was 68.
He was the best veteranarian in Jackson County. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Society. Who's Who among the American Veterinary medicine Association, the Auburn Alumni Association, and the Our Lady of Victories Breakfast Club and a devout Catholic.
Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Which is why I am asking for a silent prayer at that time. He was a true animal lover and provided funding when I would help rescued animals. He would provide health care for these animals at no charge. Even performed surgery on an injured horse in which he stayed up all night with her. She is now in my custody and is in great shape, thanks to Dr. D!!
Thanks everybody!!

Alzheimers is indeed a disease they need to find a cure for. That disease forced him to retire from something he loved doing and that was caring for animals. Although he was in the early stages of the disease, it was still taking a toll. I would still go by to see him and fill him in on things. But, even in the early stages, he sometimes did not know me, but I would stay anyway and talk. His nephew is following in his footsteps but there will never be another Dr. D.
petal... I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. It is a very disheartening disease and even more when it is your own parents. God be with you and your Mom.
Steph, Garrett, Bill, Perry, Petal... you are all gems and I appreciate it more than you know.

I too missed the prayer time, we had a boomer over us and I didn't dare go online.
Of course........I'll whisper a little prayer for DR.D tonight.
Petal.......I am so sorry to hear about your mother......I've never really seen or talked with an Alz. patient but from what I've heard from other folks, it IS the worst thing to have and experience.

Dennis, Mary, John, Josh.. you all know how I feel about you. I appreciate this alot.
There were alot of people at the funeral this morning. Very long procession to the cemetary. I rode in the family car with Dr. McCoy (his nephew) and seeing our outstanding police officers with their heads bowed at each intersection with Ali, Kane and the infamous Sir Kensington King K-9 officers standing at attention when the horse drawn hearse passed was more than I could handle or bear. My horse "Phoebe" was the lead.
