Accuweather's 2011 Hurricane Forecast

#1 Postby OuterBanker » Mon Mar 28, 2011 10:13 am

It will post on Wednesday.

Pro site already has it 15-8-3

More landfalls than last year (a pretty safe bet).

Higher concern areas. Texas coast early season, South Florida and Carolinas mid to late season.

Wonder how many people will pay attention without JB's input?

^^ Not like anybody really pays attention to fortune tellers at all. This stuff is all speculation. We'll get what we get.

Or not.

Kinda' like the Magic 8 Ball: "Outlook good", "Cannot predict now", "Outlook not so good". Take your pick.

Louisiana is on the line where early season/mid season touch, that could mean Louisiana is a target for 2/3 of the season if they are right.

Rita (late September) and Ike (mid-September) demonstrated that June all the way through September is a dangerous time along the Louisiana coast ... much less likely for SW LA andSE TX after the end of September. I think Lili was a good example of how troughs usually come into play by early October.

For 2011, I still think a better than average chance for more active period early in the season. My guess for the heart of the season is that the SE U.S. coast (Florida to NC) has greatest chance of significant landfall(s).

Hype. :na:

I like how 2 of the "highest" risk are always at a higher risk anyway because they stick out(Florida and the Carolinas).
