I neither love nor hate, but I do like weather and appreciate insight into what is going to happen. He must be a very, very good tropical met. I like mid-latitude weather and since the blog has been available I thought I would look to see how the east coast forecasts went. Here is what I came up with.
1.There was a prediction of a prolonged cold spell going well into April rivaling 2001 for cold and wet.
Result: There was a 6 day cold spell at the end of March, so far in April up to the 11th DCA has a +.3 departure.
2. Widespread snows from the mid Atlantic north on the April Fools nor'easter, with the DC suburbs getting 3-6".
Result: Just about everyone busted the April Fools storm, but the DC 'burbs could never have gotten that much snow without a source of fresh Arctic air.
3. The 4/4-4/5 severe weather outbreak, not much was said that I saw.
Result: Turns out, I think, to be most severe weather reports received by NOAA in a single day.
4. From 4/10 to 4/15 there should be large cold outbreak across the east coast.
Result: As I am looking out my window to DCA, and it is currently 68 degrees at 5 am.
Now I could have missed some more east coast predictions, there is a lot of non-weather non-science stuff that you need to pick through to get to the forecasts. I am interested in how the tropical predictions go.
