SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOUNT HOLLY NJ
1050 AM EDT TUE AUG 26 2003
...A FEW STRONG TO LOCALLY SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE THIS
AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT...
A SLOW MOVING WARM FRONT WILL MIGRATE NORTHWARD THIS AFTERNOON. THIS
FRONT SEPARATES WARM AND VERY HUMID AIR TO ITS SOUTH...FROM COOLER
AND LESS HUMID AIR TO THE NORTH. A FEW DISTURBANCES WILL MOVE ALONG
THIS FRONT THIS AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT.
AS THE AIRMASS HEATS UP THIS AFTERNOON...IT WILL BECOME
INCREASINGLY MORE UNSTABLE WHICH WILL SUPPORT SCATTERED SHOWER AND
THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY. A FEW STORMS COULD PRODUCE A DAMAGING WIND
GUST AND FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING. IF A THUNDERSTORM DOES
TURN SEVERE...THE BEST CHANCE FOR THIS WILL BE LATER THIS AFTERNOON
AND INTO THE EVENING. ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT DO DEVELOP WILL BE
CAPABLE OF PRODUCING HEAVY DOWNPOURS.
IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES YOUR LOCATION...SEEK SHELTER
IMMEDIATELY. MARINERS AND BATHERS ARE ADVISED TO KEEP AN EYE TO THE
WESTERN SKY AND GIVE YOURSELF ENOUGH TIME TO REACH SAFE SHELTER. IF
TRAVELING...BE PREPARED FOR SOME LOCALLY HEAVY DOWNPOURS THIS
AFTERNOON AND SLOW DOWN AS VISIBILITIES CAN BE GREATLY REDUCED IN
DOWNPOURS.
STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO OR LOCAL MEDIA OUTLETS FOR FURTHER
STATEMENTS AND ANY POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

And then this weekend is supposed to feature showers/storms both Saturday and Sunday. We are still stuck in this wet pattern, but as long as it has hung around this long - it might as well stick with us through the winter.
