Everyone along the Texas coast, I hope you're doing alright! You're getting your much needed rain, but too much all at once. Stay safe and check in when you can!

Yes Houston we have a problem
6 inches of rain has fallen in parts of Harris and Galveston Counties and 6-10 inches of additional rain is expected. If this thing stalls as anticipated later today itno tonight, my concern level for significant flooding goes up for Houston and vicinity. We don't want another allision there, I'll say that right now!!!

Rain
Just 1.0" here in southwest Houston. About the same in the downtown area. Heaviest rain has been east and southeast of the city in outlying areas. Barely enough rain so far to water my lawn. Maybe that feeder band will move west over us later today and give us a few more inches.

Patricia, I left the Ark in your front yard a few minute ago tied to the front porch. You didn't answer the door!
So far we have had about an inch of rain here at the W Houston S2K Storm Center, better know as WHS2KSC(SORRY!!! COULDN'T RESIST!!!
).
Jim, you are right about the next 24-48 hours. Currently the center of the circulation, at least on radar, is over Katy about 10 miles W of me but all of the rain is East of the center of Houston out over Ticka's house, about 40 miles East of me. As this system slides slowly wnw I fear the entire metro area may see that type of rain! Allison redux GO AWAY!!!

Well folks - some bad news here at my house. Seem the utility room where my deep freezer and extra storage space is has flooded. We had tried to patch the room - its on a concrete slab on the ground off from the rest of the house (which is on blocks) went down there about 30 mins ago and its got water all over the floor. Tomorrow I will be cleaning and throwing out all the stuff that got wet - too tired to do it today - but it has to be done before everything gets moldy. Just the stuff on the floor was ruined. The freezer and other items are on platforms - 6 inches off the ground - so they are ok - its just the junk that I stored in there. Oh well - I guess Grace had to leave something behind for me to remember her by since I bad-mouthed her.
Total 9 inches of rain and getting cloudy again - I think the rain is headed back to me.
Patricia

Checking in, although there wasn't much here to stress about.
Had a pretty torrential downpour at about 12:30 this afternoon. Before that, it was mostly light rain...just shy of a shower. The downpour lasted about 30 mins or so. Then at around 3:45, the sun broke through and it was nice, dry, and pleasant for the rest of the day. Not sure how much rain we got...haven't had a chance to check the weather reports. Just going by my own observations. But I doubt we had more than 4 inches since last night.
Ticka, I'm sorry about the flooding you had to endure. I hope nothing irreplacable was damaged.
