Re: WPAC : INVEST 91W
AN AREA OF CONVECTION (INVEST 91W) HAS PERSISTED NEAR 8.5N
134.8E, APPROXIMATELY 70 NM NORTH OF KOROR, PALAU. ANIMATED MSI AND
A 312226Z GPM 89GHZ MICROWAVE IMAGE SHOW A VERY BROAD AND WEAK LLCC
WITH NO DEFINED CONVECTION. UPPER LEVEL CONDITIONS IN THE AREA ARE
FAVORABLE WITH LOW VERTICAL WIND SHEAR AND GOOD EQUATORWARD
DIVERGENCE; HOWEVER, THE BROAD LLCC IS PROHIBITING FURTHER
DEVELOPMENT AT THIS TIME. GLOBAL MODELS SHOW THE DISTURBANCE
TRACKING NORTHEASTWARD AND BECOMING ABSORBED INTO INVEST 90W.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED SURFACE WINDS ARE ESTIMATED AT 10 TO 15 KNOTS.
MINIMUM SEA LEVEL PRESSURE IS ESTIMATED TO BE NEAR 1004 MB. THE
POTENTIAL FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SIGNIFICANT TROPICAL CYCLONE
WITHIN THE NEXT 24 HOURS IS LOW.
