ATL: CHRIS - Models

#1 Postby ElectricStorm » Wed Jun 26, 2024 1:02 am

Models don't do much with this, if it can get north enough to make it to the BOC that might be it's best chance to become a TD like the CMC has. But I doubt this does much

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

EC-AIFS shows this becoming a TS before landfall. The other models I've seen all have it too far south (and mostly over land) for such development.

FWIW, the 00z HWRF shows a strong TS at landfall in the BoC on Sunday night.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

What, if anything, will this mean for Monterrey. Have a friend flying there today. Not too familiar with Mexico.
