Unless I missed it, there has not been a discussion thread yet for the ACE of 2024. It's been pretty quiet for awhile but now it's starting to crank up.
Atlantic is going to get a big early lead thanks to Beryl and if those two other disturbances develop. EPAC is still stuck at 0.

Does anyone have the June final ACE number for the North Atlantic Basin?

The NATL is already at 20.7 ACE right now, 19.9 being from Beryl. Using the NHC forecast (which might end up being an underestimate if Beryl continues to act like Beryl) Beryl will get another 13.5 ACE before landfall. This would give us an ACE of 34.2 by July 8 and a total ACE for Beryl of 33.4.

The Atlantic has the most ACE it's ever had by July 3 now thanks to Beryl:

What's up with 1968? #4 on this list followed with 46.61 ACE total?

1968 had a very active June by Atlantic standards but was inactive overall: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1968_Atlantic_hurricane_season

2/3rds of the total NHEM ACE is from the Atlantic so far.

Unless explicitly stated, all info in my posts is based on my own opinions and observations. Tropical storms and hurricanes can be extremely dangerous. Do not think you can beat Mother Nature. Refer to an accredited weather research agency or meteorologist if you need to make serious decisions regarding an approaching storm.
Re: 2024 Global ACE: NH - 39.3 / NATL - 27.7 / EPAC - 0 / WPAC - 9.9 / NIO - 1.7
Beryl may well end up with nearly as much ACE as the whole of the 2013 season...

The total ACE for 2013 was 36.1 and Beryl so far has 26.7. Will it surpass that 2013 number?

Beryl did a great job to have the NATL have a super start on the ACE front. 35.9.

Nothing can happen for the next 54 days all the way until 8/30 before that number runs into seasonal average.
