question from a newbie
I've heard forcasters say isabel is going to be around a cat4 at landfall,if this is true has the area in the storms path ever had a storm of this magnitude ? If so how long ago???

In my opinion, Isabel could possibly be as strong as a minimal Cat 4 if she hit the Carolinas. It is rare for a storm to be that strong at landfall in the Carolina, but it may have happened (Hugo?). If Isabel strikes further north, she would more likely be a Cat 2 or minimal Cat 3 at landfall - but this is also rare for that area. In fact, hurricanes almost never make landfall in MD, DE or NJ.
