Isabel is really starting to worry me...

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Isabel is really starting to worry me...

#1 Postby soonertwister » Mon Sep 15, 2003 7:30 pm

I keep looking at all the possibilities, and all of them other than the hurricane falling apart or very unexpectedly turning out to sea look very negative.

Actually Isabel's current official track may be almost the optimal one for the least amount of damage to occur, given all the options.

My biggest worries are slight gradual organization and strengthening followed by a period of rapid or explosive development prior to landfall; landfall east of the current forecast track, and acceleration faster than expected catching many people trapped on gridlocked highways under the worst possible conditions.

I hope that none of the above occur, but I'm really afraid that one or more of those scenarios could become a reality. Just a day ago I thought that Wednesday might be the last day to evacuate, but now I'm starting to think that will probably be too late.

Please, Isabel - stall, and turn out to sea. Dissipate, and threaten no more. You've already provided all the wondrous thrills of discovery that we could possibly ask from any hurricane, so please don't give us any of the sorrow.
