FORT WORTH - Jurors deliberated less than two hours Tuesday in deciding that Billy Jack Crutsinger should die for slaying an elderly mother and daughter earlier this year.
Crutsinger showed no reaction when state District Judge Bob Gill announced that he will be executed for killing 89-year-old Pearl "R.D." Magouirk and her 71-year-old daughter, Patricia "Pat" Syren, on April 6.
"I guess the best way to say it is that he is not really surprised," said defense attorney Bill Ray, who, with Tim Moore, defended Crutsinger. "He always has been pretty remorseful.
