Grave news as North Korea admits proccessing of plutonimun

#1 Postby cycloneye » Thu Oct 02, 2003 6:25 am

http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/asiapcf/e ... index.html

This may have grave consequences because we can see another war sooner rather than later as NK admits it has proccessed 8,000 fuel rods of plutonimun that will make between 6-12 nuclear bombs.

The question is what will the US do about it I hope not another war please but IMO war will break out and this would be more deadly than the Iraq one.

Not good news. However, I am curious as to how many people thought N.Korea wasn't processing plutonium. I don't think this is as arguable about imminent danger. The question is: how do we solve the problem? I hope the administration thinks long and hard before they make a decision.

Agree Garrett this has to be a very careful decision that Bush has to make to deal with this potential problem that may lead to a war that would have devastating consequences for the world not only for the US.

"As we have clearly pointed out, since the United States is now threatening the DPRK with nuclear weapons to launch a preemptive nuclear attack against the DPRK, we have been left with no alternative but to be in possession of the nuclear deterrence," the minister said.

What the heck is he talking about? WE'RE threatening THEM with a preemptive nuclear strike???? Since when? Who says? Is he dreaming? Is he delusional?

That would all boil down to MAD...mutually-assured destruction.

Having a nuclear weapons program which acts as a deterrent against invasion or attack is one thing. Using it would be ludicrous.
