Actually, dixie, notice just how far SOUTH the ITCZ is. It's well below 10ºN, but it's been a very active period and a very active African wave train this year. Just another response to the neg MJO pattern.
Lots of activity off Africa. Been a strange season. Lots of storms and we still have a month and a 1/2. We are already at the N storm. I wonder if a final slow down is coming.
