Not so fast. Florida's legislature is still arguing over this - and it still has to go through changes that one branch made after another branch approved it. Also, Terri's husband is seeking a last minute appeal - it was scheduled to be heard at 4:15 this afternoon and results are not yet available.

"The House approved the bill 73-24 after the Senate passed it 23-15. "
All that's left, besides the appeal, is for Jeb to sign it and he said he'll do that immediately. Heck, in the time that we've been posting about it, he's probably already signed it and faxed a copy to the hospital so they could get on it right away.

Miss Mary
How her husband can live with himself or look himself in the mirror at the end of the day, is just absolutely beyond me. I hope her parents are given power of attorney after this and that husband can just disappear from her life - that is after this is all straigtened out. Makes you want to A. draw up a living will and B. take another good look at your spouse!

Jeb almost waited too late. Why couldn't he have done this before? I think it's a political move on his part because he would have been in trouble for letting this go by.
*Sigh.. Well I say THANK YOU JEB!!! btw sunny.. He had to wait for it to pass the house and the senate.. and I could not Disagree with you more about it being just a politcal move

i am not so sure. are the family members that want to keep her alive selfish, by not letting her go? i am not in favor of mercy killing in general, but she has been a vegetable for 13 years now, since 1990. is she suffering unbearable torment? has she been sentenced to years of continued physical and mental torment? we cant know for sure. i cant blame the husband for wanting to end her suffering.
i ask a question? if you loved her, would it be more humane to end her life or continue her life as a vegetable? just a question.
