I also have a PC problem...

#1 Postby Colin » Sat Nov 01, 2003 8:36 pm

Ever since I got cable internet, when the screensaver comes on, it stays on for like 5-15 minutes, then the monitor just goes black, and when I come down to go back on the internet, an IE explorer Error is up, and sometimes it freezes. I downloaded the latest update of IE, but that didn't help.

Anyone have any ideas?

Did you try a different screen saver? Probably won't help, but it's a low-risk thing to try.

Get a different screen saver or disable it...

Sometimes that happened to me on my old system (Eye of the Storm)

For my interest, what operating system are you using and who is your Internet service?

The posts or stuff said are NOT an official forecast and my opinion alone. Please look to the NHC and NWS for official forecasts and products.

Model Runs Cheat Sheet:
GFS (5:30 AM/PM, 11:30 AM/PM)
HWRF, GFDL, UKMET, NAVGEM (6:30-8:00 AM/PM, 12:30-2:00 AM/PM)
ECMWF (1:45 AM/PM)
TCVN is a weighted averaged

Opinions my own.

If you have hibernate mode active, then that could be part of the issue. Let us know if earlier suggestion doesn't work.

Yeah...thanks...poor use of words...hibernate is a function of older Bios systems that can interfere with older Windows versions.

I've never used a screen saver on my computer (since I've had in the last day of June, 2000). I heard that there really isn't any reason to use one, like there used to be.

I have my monitor set to turn itself off after three minutes of me being idle(through "Power Management"). For some annoying reason it doesn't always work and the green light on my tower never turns orange like it should and used to, (also through"Power Management").
