Cover that Gray or Al Naturle'
Just curious to see how many people for the 40 something crowd and older who have or are getting gray hair - if they let it grow naturally or if they color and hide it.
I am in the process of letting my hair grow out for my last color and I can't believe how gray it is.....walking on the line of just letting the gray show through and wearing it like that...
Or going and getting it colored and covering all the gray hair.....

LOL, hey, I am a redhead! I have even in my youth experienced a gray strand or two, it's a fact of life for me! LOL, I just pluck it out and go about my day! My cousin had to start dying her hair at 25, and she is brunette! Hopefully I won't have to that soon, maybe I will get my mom's luck, she hasn't had a gray yet!! If it does happen soon, I love my red hair way too much to give up on it!

That one song just popped in my head "Gonna wash that grey right outta my hair!"
Me.......Al Naturle of course, it's the Denton *curse*, I've been snow white, silver, grey....whatever you wanna call, actually, it's more pure silver than anything. I've been like this since I was 16 years old, I figure that's the way I was made, so why mess with perfection "PHHHFT!" "LOL!" I tried the color job once, looked like someone dumped a can of woodstain on my head.......now the SCARY part, I've found NUMEROUS grey chest hairs last week. what's NEXT???

I color! Nice 'n Easy here, #117 Natural (!) Medium Golden Brown. I used to have it professionally colored, with a trim every 4 - 6 weeks, OMG it was way too expensive after several years to keep doing that. When I started it was $48 (color, wash, cut, blow dry), then $58, then $70. With tip it was up over $80! I said no way. Used to highlight my hair years ago with Henna so I thought I could really try it. It took several tries with products - levels 1 thru 3 - until I had to resign myself to the fact my gray is very stubborn and it takes #3 to completely cover it. The first time I colored it myself I was scared to death - Dick Van Dyke ep gone horribly wrong kept flashing thru my mind! But it turned out okay and people say this is very close to my natural color. So I'm happy. Best part? I can color for less than $12! I use a bottle and half each month and I'm done. I browsed Clairol.com a lot before choosing Nice 'n Easy, thinking it's one brand that's been around for decades. And wouldn't be discontinued.
I'd never go back to gray! Maybe when I'm 60! 48 now.

PS - I tried a short cut over the summer, that I hated as soon as it was cut. Been growing it out ever since. I've been tempted to go a shade lighter so I almost started mixing two numbers together, Clairol.com talks you thru it, call their 800 # for help. My hair was short so I thought why not? Then I don't know, I just forgot and kept dying it the same #117 shade. Missed my chance now!!! Oh well. I'm hoping when we take our new family xmas photo, my hair will be almost as long as last year. I'm picky about my hair!!! LOL

a little grey in the beard area but if I keep it trimmed short, its no biggy. Let it bush and its quite obvious.
My wife spends a lot of time and money coloring and I've told her I love her just the way she is...but then again..I've never seen but a few strands of grey. I've tried to tell her that all that time she spends fussing with her hair color could be put to good use but to no avail!
