LONDON, England (Reuters) - "Finding Nemo" has spent a fourth week at the top of the British box office, seeing off a remake of the 1970s horror film "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."

The Disney-Pixar animated tale of a young clown fish who goes missing from his coral reef took 3.39 million pounds ($5.68 million) at cinemas in Britain and Ireland over the weekend.

It has made nearly 40 million pounds since its release, chart compiler Screen International said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Chainsaw Massacre," about a group of teenagers terrorized by Leatherface, a rampaging monster armed with a power tool, took 1.37 million pounds.

U.S. director Quentin Tarantino's martial arts film "Kill Bill - Vol. 1" dropped one place to number three after taking 1.1 million pounds.

The Coen brothers' romantic comedy "Intolerable Cruelty," starring George Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones, fell one spot to fourth, with a 1.03 million pounds take.

Action adventure "The League of Extraordinary Gentleman" fell one place to fifth.

"Calendar Girls," about middle-aged friends who pose naked for charity, fell to sixth.

The highest new entry at number seven was "In America," about an Irish family who move to New York.

Director Jane Campion's erotic thriller "In the Cut," starring Meg Ryan, was another new entry at number eight.

"Holes," director Andrew Davis' story of a boy sent to a desert prison camp, was a non-mover at number nine.

At number 10 was a reissue of director Ridley Scott's classic science fiction film "Alien." ($1=.5966 Pound)
