no tornadoes

#1 Postby george_r_1961 » Wed Nov 19, 2003 9:32 pm

Well the watch expired with no reported tornadoes. We did have a wind gust to 46 mph here in Newport News and there are unconfirmed reports of some widely scattered power outages.

Apparently, George, there was one:

1910 UNK STOKES PITT NC 3571 7726

TORNADO REPORTED BY PUBLIC. HOME DAMAGED AND TREES DOWN. (MHX)

Home (as in 1) damaged and trees down leads one to believe 5 TOR watches rendered 1 F0 or perhaps and F1 :grr: If in fact it was a TOR. when you see "reported by public" that's code for unofficial, observed by person/people untrained and could be a weak TOR but could be wind.

I don't think any were reported up in my area...a squall line was trying to develop, but it only produced some t-storms
