Why are we so blind?

#1 Postby Guest » Fri Nov 21, 2003 5:07 am

I mean, 100.000/200.000 brits demonstrated yesterday their negative feeling with the war in Iraq, polls say that Europe is against this war...
Why? I'm just wondering: how can we be so blind and put our life in danger this way, why are not we so thankful to our American friends, why are not we so determined in partecipating to a war that should save us all... Why, for heaven's sake, are we so blind?

There must be a secret reason maybe, hidden at least as well as mass destruction weapons supposed to be on our heads.

But frankly, as you posted several times, who really cares on what millions think about it? Our own governments don't, how can we expect others do?

I'm scared, because violence calls for more violence, in a never-ending spyral.

Not even close to 100,000 much less 200,000. There was only a third of what the media hype predicted.

75,000 tops, but who really cares? It was peaceful, the majority were just your run of the mill, show up at any protest going, and get out of school for the day type.

It was a circus. Large video screen with a dancing Bush, morphing back n' forth to a chimpanzee. They might as well been showing Monty Python's Flying Circus up there!

Yeah why is Europe so blind? Actually most estimates were 50,000 to 75,000. Those came from both US and European papers by the way. Our President answer to the US people. 65% support our actions in Iraq at, last check and that converts to about 176.8 million Americans. Little more then 50-70 thousand.

Again, 9/11 occured before we invaded Iraq. We had been through a period of renewed diplomacy over military action. We even used the military to protect muslims in Bosnia and Kosovo. Lack of action begats a belief that we are weak to the terrorist.

Exactly... our French professor was explaining (last semester) that the French are taught to protest from a young age. They protest a lot and I have no problem with it as long as it is peaceful. j... you were right on the money with your assessment.
