Topeka's first snow!

#1 Postby David » Wed Dec 03, 2003 8:13 pm

The storm system that is responsible for the winter weather that will be hitting the East in a couple days rolled across Kansas yesterday. Topeka got about 1.2 inches of rain. Around midnight the rain changed to snow, for about 2 hours. Although there wasn't enough to measure, there were little spots of snow this morning on the Topeka West Campus.. although those melted by noon.

I hope we get some kind of big ice storm or something to close schools this year for a couple days.. or just a decent snow. :)

LOL David. Glad to see you got a "little" bit of snow. None here yet so far.

David - I will go out on a limb and say you will get at least one storm that will close schools for a day or two. I have a feeling you will have a decent winter.

David,

It's always wonderful to see the first snowfall for the season, be it flurries, dusting, or accumulating snow. I'm fairly certain that Topeka should see several opportunities for accumulating snow this winter. Hopefully, for the benefit of all Topeka's students who could use a break every now and then, these can occur on school days.

Wonder if the bubble moves somewhere else then?

Sadly, I didn't see the first snow, being I was asleep. Last year I saw the first snow.. in 4th hour on Halloween Day. :)
