2004 Predictions

#1 Postby GalvestonDuck » Tue Dec 30, 2003 5:13 pm

Anyone out there consider themselves psychic? Care to make us laugh or think with predictions of what may happen in the coming year?

I predict J and I will still be without the S2KGGW video.

My 2004 predictions:

1-Storm2k will have over 2,000 members by mid year.

2-Osama bin laden will be killed as he will be spotted in Pakistan.

3-The dow jones will pass the 11,000 mark.

4-President Bush will win the elections but it will not be a landslide.

5-Senate and house seats will be very competitive between both parties.

6-The US coastline will see a landfalling hurricane but not a major one.

7-Puerto Rico will be scared by a major hurricane in september but it will be a close call.

8-Storm2k and WWBB will join as affiliates.

9-North Korea will end it's nuclear program.

10-THe NPP party in Puerto Rico which favors statehood of PR to the US will win the elections.

How much of those predictions I will be right on I guess that time will tell.

As long as we don't have to wait a month to know who the winner is while hanging chads are viewed with magnifying glasses and all the news channels run 24-hour marathons of coverage on the recounts. :)

Uh, all look good Luis but 8 and 9.

I agree that OBL will be killed, but it may be while he is trying to pull off some disaster.

Also, I think the President will be reelected.

And DT will confess to the weather boards his great love and admiration for rainstorm and all that he/she stands for.

I love sticking my neck out. But I'm rarely right. Still, here are a few things to kick around for 2004. I predict only one may actually happen...guess which?

1) Bush will be elected, but the Democratic candidate will do surprisingly well. No hanging chads to worry about in the end, however. The mandate will be clear.

2) An unnerving year again for terrorism...with perhaps a close call or two for one of our own leaders right here in the US of A.

3) A very early landfalling hurricane in June, 2004.

4) Winter's worst in the Midwest will take place in February and early March with plenty of snow, ice, and wind. Record snow in Indianapolis!

5) Some more great talent will take the final stage on American Idol. This time, the winner will be more obvious before the end...a female.

6) Cubs ALMOST make the World Series again, but an unlikely nemesis in the Philadelphia Phillies stops their chances.

7) Super Bowl winner will be determined by halftime. Lopsided victory.

8) Michael Jackson's story will get even more bazaar and turn very tragic.

9) Kobe Bryant will lose and be sentenced to prison time.

10) Storm2k will get some national recognition it isn't expecting.

11) The year's top movie will will be inspirational.

12) The stock market will be at its strongest early in the year...new world tensions and worries in the spring will shake it back down to 9400.

13) Ashton and Demi will be history. Britney will have an awakening experience that changes her career. One of the cast of Friends will need some extra prayers this year.

14) A rash of UFO sightings will take us outside to see for ourselves.

15) Another SARs-like virus will show its ugly side..but again be contained and controlled.

16) A new voice will rise and speak out against the evils of the US....and become a familiar name. He will spearhead an attack in another part of the world.

17) The military draft will take another step forward...with Congress working on measures for reinstatement by 2005.

18) Most telephone bills will actually go down!

19) The most popular new toy will not be electronic...but instead based on the wheel.

20) Congress will begin deliberating the merits of controlling the internet...and the outcry will be boldly against! Still...new controls will start taking effect...and the frontier will get a little more difficult to roam.

21) The JonBenet Ramsey case will be solved.

22) A new comedian will surface who will stir belly laughs again.

23) The top musical group of the year will have just three members.

24) The space program will get a new lease on life. New leadership in NASA will instill great vision extending beyond the next twenty years.

25) Our vending machine at work will continue to take my money without giving me that Kit Kat bar.

1) I will become a good friend of my home tread mill!

2) The folks and I will FINALLY land a house in Raleigh!

3) Osama CAPTURED alive!

4) President Bush WILL WIN another term in office!

Can we move this west a bit?? Thanks! :D

10) Storm2k will get some national recognition it isn't expecting.

What, you mean when I am on TWC with my great chase video wearing Storm2K gear head to toe?? (One could only wish!) I hope we do get a BIG break in '04!!

25) Our vending machine at work will continue to take my money without giving me that Kit Kat bar.

Awww man, isn't that rough?! Happens to me once in a while as well- but I'm usually minus the Peanut M&M's!!

Definitely a lot to think about and interesting to read!! It'll be neat to look back when the year is said and done and see what really happens!!!

That would be excellent. I did mention the idea (better than nothing, :) )a couple times that perhaps some local TV stations could mention Storm2K.

I predict that Marva will be run over by a fellow S2K'er screaming "You're NOT Funny, you hear me, you're NOT funny. Shut up and go to WWBB"

A few predictions by me...

1) Bush will win, but it will be close.

2) Cheney will not be VP... it will most likely be Condaleezza Rice.

3) Pakistani President Musharraf will be assasinated.

4) Scott Peterson will be found guilty and will most likely be given the death penalty.

5) Mark Garagos will be shown for the lowlife he really is.

6) The DOW will be mixed all year... high point being somewhere in the neighborhood of 10,650 possibly 10,750.

7) A foreign country previously thought to be an ally will be exposed as a real enemy. I'm not talking France or Germany...one we feel is closer to our ideals.

8) MSNBC will pass CNN in the ratings during key primetime slots.

9) The SMSU Lady Bears will make it into the sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.

10) We will go to orange alert 5 times.

Since I asked, I might as well give it a shot. Mine will be more entertainment-oriented, simply because that's me. :)

1) Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck will finally tie the knot, but it won't last into 2005.

2) A young but well-known actor (Haley Joel Osment?) will suffer a terrible tragedy in his or her family.

3) Sadly, Ronald Reagan will pass away.

4) An Oscar-winner will become the parent of twins (who, in the future, will become actors also).

5) A character on ER will become a parent (and I'm not talking about Carter).

6) The next Survivor winner will also a scandal-free survivor.

7) Aside from the new series of Survivor, Amazing Race, The Mole, etc., there will be 2 new adventure-based reality shows introduced by the major networks, 1 more celebrity-centered reality show, 3 more makeover-type (home or body) reality shows, 5 more dating reality shows, and 1 more mega-money how-smart-are-you game show.

8) The Kentucky Wildcats end their season with only 2 losses and an NCAA championship.

9) A horse with a patriotic-sounding name will win the KY Derby and a horse with a color in its name will place.

10) Another weapon-hidden-on-an-aircraft incident will occur in the US without injury to anyone.

11) Another famous face on television will surprise us and then bore us with their "I'm gay" story, but will be less political or blatant about it.

12) OBL's body will be discovered but we'll have to wait several days for confirmation of the identity.

13) Another bizarre Dahmer-like serial killer will be discovered.

14) Pepsi will introduce a new drink.

15) George Bush will be re-elected and will carry the state of his opponent.

16) A potentially devastating summertime terrorist attack will be foiled here in the U.S.

17) The Ohio thrill-sniper will be discovered and taken down in a gunfight.

18) Another tragic Menendez-style killing will happen in the Midwest.

19) I won't have to pack up and evacuate at all during the '04 hurricane season.

20) I'll catch 28 strands of Mardi Gras beads, 6 doubloons, one cup, and finally, a mini-football -- all without having to show anything but my hands. :)

I'm really impressed by the predictions - very well thought out and possible - with a couple of "in our wildest dreams" predictions to boot!

1. We will have another very active hurricane season, but will once again dodge a major U.S. landfall.

2. We will make major strides in the war on terror, effectively crippling the Al Qaeda network; however, bin Laden will not be found or heard from.

3. Jacki will reach 25,000 posts, Cycloneye will reach 40,000 posts, and Josephine96 will pass 50,000 posts. :D

John will reach 50,000. But, statistically, only 49,954 will be posts. The other 46 are *bump*'s.

Update:

GalvestonDuck wrote:5) A character on ER will become a parent (and I'm not talking about Carter).

Okay, I already knew about Kerry and I confessed to that. Just had to post the prediction for the fun of it. But I did NOT know about Susan possibly becoming pregnant also. So, if Susan doesn't lose her baby and gives birth, I get credit for this one. :)

GalvestonDuck wrote: 6) The next Survivor winner will also a scandal-free survivor.

Ugh...I didn't know this year's Survivor was going to be previous contestants. I'm not sure who is scandal-free already, but I know Richard better not win since he had his share of publicity.

GalvestonDuck wrote: 8) The Kentucky Wildcats end their season with only 2 losses and an NCAA championship.

Darn. Three losses so far. Now the best I can hope for is the tourney.

GalvestonDuck wrote: 17) The Ohio thrill-sniper will be discovered and taken down in a gunfight.

Getting closer on this one since witnesses have now described him and his car.

GalvestonDuck wrote: 20) I'll catch 28 strands of Mardi Gras beads, 6 doubloons, one cup, and finally, a mini-football -- all without having to show anything but my hands. :)

Less than two weeks and I'll have an answer on this. If I could just get one of those footballs, I'd be happy. :)
