I was flipping through the channels and watched Paul say that pints on the NJ shore will most likely see 8-9 inches of snow. That would be great to close school tomorrow.

The latest NWS discussion has mentioned the low moving more east instead of se. This has also led to increase in our amounts 4-7inches with up to 1 ft. on Cape Cod due to ocean enhancement.

A snowstorm on the ocean is a hauntingly beautiful site. The wind whipping up the foam on the ocean, while also driving the snow nearly sideways; the waves crashing on the beach and lapping up the newly fallen snow (yes, the water, which by definition is above freezing - and in the NE US is in the lower 30s at its coldest - so it will melt the snow quite easily). I go to AC every year a day or two before Christmas to play poker with some friends and even though AC doesn't get that much snow, we've been lucky enough to get snow 3 or 4 times in the last 10 years, so I always make a point of walking the beach in the snow.
