Super Bowls in Presidential election years

#1 Postby JTD » Mon Jan 19, 2004 11:43 pm

Hey, guys. There's some sort of tradition in presidential elections that if the AFC wins the super bowl, one party wins and if the NFC wins another does but I can't remember specifically.

So...does anyone know if the superbowl has accurately predicted presidential elections frequently? Or maybe it's just a old wives' tale. It might have been about the stock market too, I can't remember.

Please clear this up for me. lol. :D

I always thought it was the Yale-Harvard game winner that was a pre-cursor to knowing the outcome of the election. If Yale won, a Republical would win. If Harvard, a Democrat.

This year, Yale beat Harvard 37-19.
