dont worry the GFS QPF vlaues keep going up. NYC is in a solid 1.00" of liquid. with an area of 1.25" further north. no worries. this is a hit from philly north in the areas where p-type stays all snow.

QPF keeps going up with almost every single run of the GFS, so i would venture to believe that as we get closer to verification time i would not be shocked to see some 1.50-1.75" totals show up across PA/NJ/NY and new england.

none of it should be plain rain in PHL. the boundary layer should remain solidly below freezing throuhout. so it really amounts to a ZRA/IP problem.

right now areas north/west of the big cities (phl-nyc corridor) such as MDT, UNV, IPT, BGM, AVP, ABE, MSV, MPO, ALB get slammed. as well as southern new england. BDL, BOX, PSF, and others.

with an inch of liquid its going to be damn close. if it goes up more to say 1.25" or 1.50" then were talking about over a foot (if ratios are at least 10:1)

even with a slight changeover in phil and tewards the east, with a solid 1 to 1 1/2 of liquid that would still be something like 8-10 inches of snow, wright?

I am northeast of philadelphia. My location is about in line with trenton, nj or a littly bit south, but east. So locations that are philadelphia and north will get slammed with heavy snow by the time this is all said and done.
