Another tease for the deep south?

#1 Postby timNms » Sun Feb 08, 2004 6:36 pm

http://kamala.cod.edu/ms NWS Jackson discussion:

I HAVE QUITE A BIT MORE CONFIDENCE THAT THIS PERIOD WILL BE
BELOW CLIMO AS WE STAY UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF COLD CANADIAN HIGHS.
ALSO TO ADD TO THIS WOULD BE THAT THERE IS A GOOD SNOW PACK TO OUR
NORTH...ACTUALLY THE BEST SNOW PACK OF THIS YEAR. MEDIUM RANGE
GUIDANCE IS LIKELY NOT HANDLING THIS WELL...SO WILL STAY ON THE COLD
SIDE. LETS HOPE PRECIP DOESN'T TRY TO WORK ITSELF NORTH WITH A COLD
AIRMASS IN PLACE...IT COULD GET MESSY. WILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR MORE
MODEL CONSENSUS BEFORE WE JUMP INTO THAT. STAY TUNED!

In Tennessee, the systems seem to know where
the KY/TN line and AL/TN lines are, and, avoid it at
all costs...;)

Seriously, later into February is where we usually
get the "good" ones - let's watch and see.

breeze, I haven't even seen a flurry this winter. It would be great to have a couple or so inches of snow for the kids to play in, but if not, give me spring warmth! I'm gettin too old for this cold weather and my arthritis doesn't like it much either!
