Winter Weather Summary
POSTED: February 23, 2004 7:46 a.m.

Snow in the Southwest and Midwest

This week will have an active storm track across the southern United States. As for new snowfall over the next 24 hours, 1-3 inches will be found in the Cascades and in the Sierra Nevada. 1-3 inches will also be found in many areas from southern Nevada and northern Arizona, east to the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles. Three to six inches of new snow are likely in some of the southern Utah and northern Arizona mountains and in the mountains of northern New Mexico. As much as one foot may accumulate across the high peaks of northern New Mexico.

A disturbance coming through the Great Lakes will bring 1-3 inches of new snow to Michigan, northern Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania by tomorrow morning. Accumulating snow will be found in the Pennsylvania mountains tomorrow. A mix of rain and snow will be found in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., all the way to the coast.
