Winter Weather Summary

Snow and Wind in the Lakes and Eventually the Appalachians.
A strong disturbance, or clipper, is heading through the Great Lakes today; it will track across the Northeast tomorrow. Snow amounts will be on the order of 1-3 inches across northernmost Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and much of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan in the next 24 hours or so; snow and flurries will occur across the eastern Great Lakes, into central New York and south through the mountains of Pennsylvania into West Virginia tonight. Amounts in these areas will range from ground coverings, to a few inches in the highest elevations. Winds will gust well over 40 mph, especially near the Great Lakes, adding to any travel problems.
