Sad News from my old Middle School

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Mon Mar 15, 2004 8:03 pm

Hello Storm 2k'ers.. Sad news to report from my old middle school tonight:

McCARTY HAS DIED: Parkway Middle School Algebra teacher Mrs. McCarty died on Sunday. According to reports, she was killed by cancer. McCarty has been a math teacher at PMS for several years and was well liked by the students.

Even though I never had Mrs. McCarty for a math teacher, I feel kinda sad. I always heard good things about her and plus everyone told me I would have enjoyed her class.

Sorry to hear about these sad stories, John.

It probably would of made more sense if you put them in one thread.

Losing a good teacher is like losing a friend. I recently learned that my algebra teacher from HS JUST passed away. She was in her 90's!

As a former teacher myself, I stay in touch with a handful of students living around the country. I have genuinely kept track of their lives (and contributions to other's lives) and they have done so with me as well.

Teaching is a noble profession, and although it often gets little respect, teachers can and do have much impact on the lives of many people.

Sorry to hear about this loss.
