Tiny temblor shakes it up south of Ottawa Ontario
Residents south of Ottawa felt the earth move Wednesday morning when a small earthquake rumbled through the area. The Geological Survey's Earthquake Centre said the 2.5-magnitude quake struck at about 7:40 a.m.
Such a low magnitude is generally so mild, many may not even notice the vibrations. However, residents in Osgoode, Kemptville and North Gower called radio stations to report feeling the tremor. There were no reports of damage or injuries. The Geological Survey said the epicentre was about 32 km southeast of downtown Ottawa. The last local quake, which shook the area almost two years ago, was a 5.5-magnitude rattler felt over a wide section of Eastern Ontario.
