Latest Tropical Weather Discussion even notes the strong disturbances in interior Africa -- headed west.

CONVECTION HAS DIED DOWN DURING THE LAST FEW HOURS WITH THE
STRONGEST ACTIVITY NOW CONFINED TO AFRICA.

Anyone else thinks these are sizable storms brewing inside Africa for April? Maybe not, but it sure seems like it to me.

i dont think its all that unusual, although its been awhile since Ive seen that much activity down there in April. Nothing tropical will come out of though and I think most of the convection will collapse as it moves over the Atlantic. Still too much shear..and marginal SST's

I agree. I believe before many of us had internet access and before anyone (in the mainstream) was able
to get online there has been this sort of activity in late March and April.
