Particpated in that last night for the first time. It was a lively place which is what I am looking for when I sign on.
I soul search as to whether it is a character flaw of mine that when I take the time to revve up the computer and select a site that the site be operational. I believe that even if it is free, it should be there as advertized. Others state I have no right to such expectation and just be satisifed when it is there.
Absent any active weather the off topic dominates and ususally I cannot get on until about 10-11pm and so look for an hour of so of lively off topic debate. S2k does impose limits of the "liveliness" and as such may have diminished their audience, but by gosh you guys are always up and working. I get tired of bounding back and forth between the live wired, polulated, but broke a lot, and a more sedate site yet one that always works. I wish there was a way to achieve the best of both worlds and am having a hard time settling in with the current situation(s). Thanks

Oh for the love of god, how many times are you going to beat this horse? We know how you feel, you stated it over and over and over on multiple boards. Give it a friggin rest.

Where were you a couple of days ago when some of your other buddies were Beating the heck out of the dead horse? Why is it any different now?

That was the first time I'd seen it from them, while this is nothing new from WEATHER53. He posts it repeatedly every time there is downtime.

I can promise you it wasnt the first time they have spoke negatively about the s2k rules ;-) and or the site itself.

He has his right to be upset, unfortuanatly it is a free site, so there is nothing much more you can do about it though other then be upset. If our server went down that much I can promise you that you would see a much bigger rant then that out of me.. lol

Chad your last sentence speaks volumes. Winnie is in the camp that condones saying all the bad things one wants but don't say anthing bad about the site least they take it away or give up. For those that advocate the frequently most profane and attacking speech, it is interesting, if not hypocritical, to then want to prohibit speech concerning the site itself. I am a business man myself a, part owner of two, I think Winnie owns a business, I think I asked once and got no reply if you were giving out free banannas at your lodge and they were rotten would you tell anyone who made negative comments to go away because they were free, and whether or not I was giving out free stuff or charging for it, if it was broken over and over again I would simply find something else to do.

Huh? Where does this come from? I don't 'condone' saying bad things. I've preferred the other board in the past because it was faster paced in the winter and the relaxed moderation makes me worry less about getting banned in case I make a satirical or light hearted jab that someone doesn't get.

I think I asked once and got no reply if you were giving out free bananas at your lodge and they were rotten would you tell anyone who made negative comments to go away because they were free

I have no memory of a 'bananas post' but I wouldn't have responded anyways, since the answer is obvious, and the analogy weak. The guest would be told that we're sorry the bananas didn't meet your expectations. The customer would move on, not bring it up every chance he could.

whether or not I was giving out free stuff or charging for it, if it was broken over and over again I would simply find something else to do.

Uh, this is basically what I've trying to suggest you do. Your obviously unhappy with the level of service you get, so what don't you find something else to do instead of reward the efforts of Mike Dross with negativity on other boards?

I really have no intention to debate this further here. It's a personal difference. Let's leave it at that.

I'll go one more round.
What gets rewarded is results, not efforts. In any particular case if the same efforts gets a failed result over a dozen times...well I do not even have to conclude the statement-the assessment is obvious. Doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result is neither of a business nor even public service nature. I also doubt that if the customers continued to get rotten bananas that they would just keep quiet about it, more likely find another place to stay. You sure you are a business owner??
