...Authorities Said More Arrests Could Be Coming.

McKINNEY, Texas (KXAS-TV) -- Three men were arrested on capital murder charges Friday in the deaths of four people who were shot at a McKinney home just over a month ago.

Rosa Barbosa, 46; her nephew, Mark Barbosa, 25; and a family friend, Austin York, 18, died March 12 at Rosa Barbosa's home, where the shootings occurred. Another family friend, Matthew Self, 17, died at a hospital the next day. All four were shot in the head.

Police Chief Doug Kowalski said at a news conference Friday night that Rosa Barbosa was the initial target in the shooting and the secondary target was Cliff's Check Cashing, where she worked.

Police charged Jecory May, 22, of McKinney; Calvin Walker, 28, of Dallas and James Jones, 33, of McKinney. Each man was charged with four counts of capital murder and was being held on bond of $4 million.

One suspect already was in the Collin County sheriff's custody on an unrelated matter when he was served with the warrant in this case. Police apprehended the other two men in McKinney on Friday.

One of the men has confessed that he was involved in the shooting and has implicated the other two suspects, Kowalski said.

It was not immediately clear which man had been in the sheriff's custody and which man had confessed.

A search at a McKinney home yielded more evidence against one of the suspects. Investigators said that there could more arrests, NBC 5 News reported.

Lori Wilson, Austin York's mother, told a local TV station that the arrests were a good first step.

"I need a conviction, and at this point tonight, I need three convictions," she said.

The killings stirred uncertainty and fear in this quaint city of 70,000, where Self and York were members of McKinney North High School's football team. Police said they apparently were at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Self and York were friends of the Barbosas and played football with Mark Barbosa's younger brothers, Lynard and Alex, who lived nearby with their mother. A second brother, Robert Barbosa, 22, lived at the home where the shootings occurred and found the bodies that night.

According to police records, Rosa Barbosa had been bound and blindfolded with duct tape before she was shot in the head at close range. Police found her body face down on the floor of a back bedroom.

The three other victims were found in a front bedroom. Self was mortally wounded but still breathing. York's body was found slumped over a bed a few feet away. Across the bed from him was Mark Barbosa.

The three suspects remain in the Collin County jail Saturday. Each is being held on a $4 million bound, NBC 5 News reported.
