Hey all:
I've been invited by my local NWS WCM friend to sit in on a presentation by James Franklin of the NHC on Monday. He will be in Wilmington, NC talking about hurricane winds and the forecasting process overall. He has 3 hours all for him. I'm going and will take notes and post them on my site as well as here that evening. I might learn something new.
And to think- he'll actually be in my hometown. Yaay.

Yes- I am interested in his talk about the models. As always, any indication of which models to pay closer attention to is of big help. We'll see what he says. I believe I heard someone at the National conference say the GFDL was the best overall model last year- followed closely by the GFS and UKMET. That was a busy week and I may not have heard the info correctly- who knows. But I'll certainly ask James which models performed the best last season.
