Front through

#1 Postby tomboudreau » Sun May 02, 2004 12:53 pm

Just had the cold front pass through my area with a period of heavy rain and strong gusty winds. At around 2:15 PM, the temp was 69 degrees and at 2:45 PM, the temp had fallen to around 43 degrees. This front means business. A line of storms is now developing along the front to my east. The winds are also gusty as I measured a wind gust with the front of 33.5 miles per hour. I am now soaking wet on the back side as I was standing with my back to the wind. This is the current image from Pittsburgh's radar...

And here is State College's radar:

The threat for severe weather has most likely ended for my area with this front. Hopefully areas to my east will escape from any and all severe weather as well.

I'll say it means business. yesterday at this time was 78 and right now i am sitting at 39!arrggghhh

Temp has been sitting around 39/40 sence this morning so once it passes you dont expect the temp to climb right back up. Unless it clears some which for here it hasnt.

Supposed to get down to 32 but i suspect IF the clouds do break up then it will get a bit colder then that making it the coldes ever moring temp in May i have seen.
