The choices in the bottom two were unbelievable. Are the voters deaf!!!! Latoya London didn't deserve to be there let alone be voted out!!

Well, I was miffed at first, but I realized that she was going to get a record deal ANYWAY, even if she was the very first to go. That's a lot of talent to go to waste.

Jasmine (and she knows this) should have been eliminated tonight, but, what can you do. John Stevens shouldn't have been in the top 12 to begin with, and look what happened.

I think the show has become a Joke!!!! Although I thought Fantasia did poorly last night she is one of the two top talents and always has been!! LaToya made the rest of them including Fantasia look bad last night. If they want that show to survive they are going to have to restrict the voting procedures so people can't vote over and over.

I Was Surprised

that Jasmine stayed but I understand how it could happen. Diane's performance (even according to the Judges) was so over the top-especially on her second song, that meant that all the others had to play catch up in the votes. La Toya lost the beat briefly in one of her songs which in Disco is death. But at that she was definitely better than Jasmine. BUT Jasmine has the whole Filipino-American Community in the US (and not just Hawaii) and probably a significant portion of the rest of the Asian-American Community behind her and they probably voted in large numbers to keep Jasmine on while Fantasia and La Toya split the vote of those not voting for Diane. Frankly as an old Disco (and most assuredly Donna Summer) fan, I thought that DiGarmo nailed it while the other girls weren't quite with it and Jasmine made really bad song choices. Personally, I would have kept La Toya and booted Jasmine but that's not how it turned out. Listening to La Toya's farewell song I thought that she would make a great Broadway singer in a musical. But as Clay Aiken noted, all of the top 4 last time around got record deals so the same will probably happen here. Even if Jasmine doesn't get a US deal, I'm sure that there are record producers in the Philippines who give her one as her poise, range and ability are pretty much a cut above most local singers there.

Although I think it was a disgrace i know what may be happeneing. DOnt know if it was mentioned already but both of those women have a similar soulful sound. So they split the vote on people that like them. The other two stand out from them and have enough of a fan base not to be fighting over the "same" votes.

As usual, I have a different viewpoint. As I posted some time ago, LaToya made my ears hurt with her loud singing! :D

I didn't see the performances either. I'm wondering if some people got alittle turned off by LaToya during the competition saying how the four were all winners and that they would be getting record contracts anyway (don't be so presumptuous honey). Secondly, Look at the personalities of the two girls that were safe versus the two that were in the bottom two. Yes, you can call it a popularity contest, but if you don't like the person, do you really want to purchase their records? Fantasia is just too grating for me and I do think that LaToya is alittle boring as well. I don't see a "sparkle", but they both can sing. Simon has always said that American Idol is looking for a pop star - I don't think that they are "pop" material, but R&B, Soul, etc. Ruben isn't moving in the direction of pop music himself, though he was the winner. Even Randy Jackson said a few weeks back during the "Big Band" competition that it really suited LaToya. Hmmm.

At anyrate, I was very surprised that Jasmine was "safe". Even before this week's competition, I thought she was the weakest of the 4 remaining.

They should change the vote procedure to - voting off the one who is the least talented - or performed less well amongst the contestants. This would keep contestants on their toes -

However, if the best one has a bad day - He/She - may get voted off!?

May be the finals should be selected by the judges only - and the p[ublic only votes for the folks up to the top 4. Or - the public gets 45 % of the total vote, and the three judges and guest get the rest [percentage] equally.

Sure needs some fixing!

I haven't been able to watch for a while because my dumb tv doesn't let me watch Fox! I was really surprised to hear that LaToya went! Though from early on I was a Jasmine fan, I don't know that she was better than LaToya! Oh well, it is the public's fault, what can ya do?

On a side note, I have a co-worker who swears up and down she is dragging me to the next audition's.... ha, Simon will tell me I'm hideous, I'll give him an earful and that will be all of that!
