that CAN be a factor at times, and you are on the NW periphery of the risk area, but still a good potential for SVR nonetheless.

well, snoop, i got some more good news for ya, as the line across the central part of the state appears to be translating into linear MCS, which will continue to maintain its intensity courtesy of strong LLJ even into the KCMO area later on.
Noticing some pretty high base reflectivity returns on radar, and w/o looking at VIL's theres still a good chance that those are LARGE hail and DMG straight line wind producers.

There's two factors involved ...
Yes, the Central IL region gets whacked harder in most cases. As mentioned, the lake breeze can be a stabilizing factor, along with sometime the urban heat island has shown to disrupt tornadic circulations on the SFC ... but it's not a guarantee solution, whatsoever.
Definitely be on guard today ... the situation in Northern IL is a little uncertain at this time whether, although parameters should come together quite nicely even for the Chicago region to get into some nasty stuff ...

At least? Like I said in another topic, at one time, there were 3 very distinct rotation signatures from radar with at least two reports of tornadoes on the ground when the storm was near Cameron. From there, rotations built up at least 3 more times after those storms moved through. This doesn't even count the 2-3 hours before that happened. That supercell just keep generating new rotation signatures over and over and over and over again. I don't know if the NWS calls each seperate tornadoes, but to me, I believe I would.

I saw that Kristi... a man and two women, right?
I heard that the man was trying to cover his kids. How sad!
